My Art work stems solely from my imagination. I never research the work in advance, I dont know what I am aiming for an end result, instead I allow the work to develop intuitively in the moment, some intricate textured jigsaw slowly unfolding before my eyes. The utopian landscapes, with their vast complex conurbation of cities are heavily worked and can take on average three months to complete.
The landscapes unfold, juxtaposing modern archictecture next to ancient citadels, to create elaborate shapes that intrinsically invite the viewer to look closer and closer.
A brave new world, where past ruins sit next to monolithic skyscrapers, a testament to an idyllic, Arcadian past and a bright future.
Most of the work is excuted in ink, the medium allows me to create meticulously detailed forms that fit into each other. Interlocking vertical, horizontal and curved lines creating these vast tapestry like landscapes, to transfix your mind and eyes.
